So call me spoiled or call me negligent- either way I got to go on a second girls’ trip to Park City at the end of August.
This time, the crew consisted of age-old friends, dating back to junior high and even elementary for some.
There was a time when, having been consumed with marriage and babies, all hope of maintaining our close friendships had been lost, and the notion of girls’ nights seemed completely out of our grasp.
But, one summer we took courage and took the plunge that spurred a tradition of get togethers full of fun and mayhem. I know that friendships this long lasting our rare and I feel truly blessed to still call these girls great friends.
The first year, we went big. All the way to Vegas, baby!

Park city/ SLC 2011
Explanation for these pictures??
YOU do the math!!
4 chatty friends with full bellies from Rumbi and some catching up to do
+
1 missed turn
+
1 quick cut through the Taco Bell parking lot at high speeds to make up for lost time
+
1 large, unseen, rock-bedded island in the middle of the parking lot
=
1 car flying through midair
+
3 screaming girls
+
1 bumped head
+
2 flat tires
Although we attempted to drive away from the accident, seeing how it occurred 5 minutes after the surrounding tire stores all closed, that was not going to happen.
So we had to call upon our truck driver friend to come and tow us.
Long story short, we arrived at our Park City hotel at 8 0’clock that night on 4 used snow tires.
The next morning we . . . ate and shopped, what else???!!!
Then we drove (with something dragging along the bottom of the car) to SLC, straight to the nail salon for killer manis/pedis.
That night we ate at The Spaghetti factory before hitting up a comedy club.
The next morning, first on our agenda was locating a car repair shop, which fixed us up quite nicely, and which allowed us to head to Murray for . . . more shopping and eating, what else???!!
(The Cheesecake Factory- yum yum)
If you couldn’t already tell, this year’s trip themes were:
Eating
Car problems
Shopping
Eating
Luxury
Late nights
Chatting
and Eating!!
